20th EIKENBURG LAW WEEK FUN RUN

Mark Your Calendar for 20th Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run

Mark your calendar for April 9, 2005 and start training for the 20th Annual John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run. This annual event benefits The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation, which makes independent lives possible for those with developmental disabilities.
The HBA hopes to make this milestone race the biggest and best ever, with a special event planned in downtown’s Sam Houston Park, where the race begins. Houston Mayor Bill White will join Elizabeth Eikenburg, wife of the run’s namesake, the late John J. Eikenburg, in starting the race. Live music, prize drawings and refreshments will add to the festivities.
The Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run features an 8K run, sanctioned by the USATF, as well as a one-mile children’s run and one-mile family walk. Unique trophies, created by residents of The Center, will be awarded for individual age categories, team categories, wheelchair category and overall finishers. There are special trophies for the 1st place all-lawyer team and the 1st place all-student team from the three Houston law schools.
Three-person teams from law firms, corporate legal departments and other entities are encouraged.
Watch your mail in January for a registration brochure for the 20th Annual John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run or visit the HBA Web site, www.hba.org. Help make this event a record-breaker in attendance and in contributions to The Center.
