23rd John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run Raises Over $52,000 for The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation The HBA’s 23rd John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run raised $52,000 for The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation, bringing the 23-year total to over $775,000 in contributions to The Center. Over 850 runners, walkers and supporters participated in the event. The Center makes independent lives possible for developmentally challenged people in the Houston community. Held March 29th at Sam Houston Park, the event featured an 8K run, a competitive one-mile children’s run and a one-mile family walk. The event is truly a team effort that involves many months of planning and coordination. Race directors were Todd W. Lonergan of Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom, L.L.P. and Kirk Worley of Haynes and Boone L.L.P. The Fun Run Committee included Hon. Jeff Brown, Tonja De Sloover, Christopher Lee Dodson, John J.
